What You'll Do
● Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, focusing on automotive mechanisms (e.g., drives, actuators).
● Strong understanding of sheet metal design, linear motion and plastics part design
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, electronics, and manufacturing) to integrate mechanical systems into new product designs.
● Develop and evaluate prototypes, perform detailed tolerance analyses, and refine designs based on testing results.
● Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept, design, and prototyping to production and validation.
● Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability standards.
● Interface with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
● Conduct root-cause analysis and implement design improvements for existing products
● Argue and fight over what is the best choice for the customer
Who You Are?
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
● 4+ years of experience in NPD, with a focus on automotive mechanism design.
● Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX) and FEA
analysis.
● Hands-on experience in designing and validating electro-mechanical systems
● Knowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping,
injection moulding), and GD&T.
● Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
● Clear thought process, believe in simplifying rather than complicating
● Argue and fight over the opinions. Believe in always choosing the best
● Done multiple projects during graduation/post-graduation. Participated and
performed in tech competitions.
Bonus
● Design graduate or post graduate from Tier 1, Tier 2 institute like IITs, BITS, IISc,
NITs, MIT, VIT, RV, PESIT etc
● Worked for a start-up or automotive sector on electro-mechanical design
