Job Description: Assistant Manager - Risk

Overview:
Eko India Financial Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to join our
team as Assistant Manager - Risk. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of prior experience
in the fintech domain and a strong background in managing risks across fraud, compliance, and
regulatory requirements. This role is an individual contributor position that requires flexibility,
excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively under tight timelines.
The candidate must also be comfortable working from our Gurgaon office and engaging with
police, lawyers, and law enforcement authorities to handle legal and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Risk Management:
○ Lead and manage fraud, access, and compliance risk projects effectively.
○ Design, implement, and oversee risk management frameworks and controls
across various business units.
○ Identify and mitigate emerging risks proactively.
2. Incident & Escalation Management:
○ Investigate, manage, and resolve high-impact incidents and escalations related
to suspected fraud and abuse.
○ Act as the centralized point for abuse-related issues internally.
3. AML & CFT Compliance:
○ Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of
Terrorism (CFT) regulations.
○ Enhance policies and procedures to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
4. Regulatory Reporting:
○ Ensure timely and accurate filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Currency
Transaction Reports (CTRs), and other regulatory filings as required by
authorities.
5. Transaction Monitoring:
○ Oversee transaction monitoring and screening processes to detect and report
suspicious activities effectively.
6. Stakeholder Management:
○ Collaborate with regulators, auditors, senior leadership, and other
internal/external stakeholders to align compliance and risk mitigation efforts.
○ Work directly with police, lawyers, and law enforcement authorities to address
legal and compliance-related issues.
7. On-Field Monitoring:
○ Travel extensively pan-India to monitor clients on-site and ensure compliance
with operational risk controls.
Basic Qualifications:
● Graduate with 3-5 years of experience in a risk management role, preferably within the
fintech industry.
● Proven ability to manage escalations and handle case triaging effectively.
Desired Skills and Experience:
● Report Writing & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
with the ability to prepare detailed and clear reports.
● Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, with a demonstrated ability to work under tight
timelines.
● Flexibility: Adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage multiple responsibilities
effectively.
● Legal & Law Enforcement Interaction: Comfortable working closely with police,
lawyers, and law enforcement authorities to resolve risk and compliance-related issues.
● Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel extensively across India for on-field monitoring
and client assessments.
● Work Location: Must be comfortable working full-time from the Gurgaon office.
