Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IBM Watson Assistant Developer to design, build, and maintain AI-powered conversational agents that enhance our customer service and user engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural language processing (NLP), chatbot development, and integration with various platforms and APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
    • Design and develop conversational flows using IBM Watson Assistant.
    • Define and train intents, entities, and dialog nodes to optimize conversation accuracy and relevance.
    • Implement best practices for natural language understanding (NLU) to enhance the chatbot's performance.
  • Integration:
    • Integrate Watson Assistant with external systems such as CRMs, databases, and third-party APIs to retrieve and store information.
    • Work with RESTful services and JSON/XML for seamless communication between the chatbot and other platforms.
  • Testing and Optimization:
    • Conduct thorough testing of chatbot interactions to ensure accuracy, user satisfaction, and error handling.
    • Monitor and analyze conversation logs to identify areas for improvement and retrain models as needed.
  • Deployment and Maintenance:
    • Deploy the chatbot across various platforms such as websites, mobile apps, and messaging apps.
    • Monitor chatbot performance post-deployment and make necessary updates and optimizations.
  • User Experience:
    • Design intuitive and user-friendly conversational experiences that align with business objectives.
    • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to refine and improve the chatbot.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the chatbot’s architecture, design, and integration processes.
    • Provide regular reports on chatbot performance metrics and improvement strategies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and software developers, to align chatbot features with business goals.
    • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to incorporate advanced machine learning models into the chatbot.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience in developing chatbots using IBM Watson Assistant or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Experience with API integration and working with RESTful services.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Node-RED for building and orchestrating services.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI models.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles for conversational interfaces.
  • Experience in deploying chatbots on multiple platforms (web, mobile, messaging apps).
