Job Title: CAD Technician
Location: Remote Working
The main purpose of this role is to prepare detailed AutoCAD 2D drawings associated with the construction and installation of new gas, water and electricity contestable connections (up to and including 33/66/132kV) and produce ‘as-laid’ drawings to assist with asset value claims. The role ensures accurate and timely delivery of drawings while adhering to company standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, produce, and amend detailed AutoCAD 2D drawings throughout the project lifecycle in line with company standards.
• Produce ‘as-laid’ drawings from sketches and site reports, ensuring accuracy and resolving dimension or route discrepancies with project managers.
• Coordinate with CAD technicians and project stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs.
• Communicate with project managers and team members to address and resolve issues related to drawing requirements or claim rejections.
• Work through emails and reports to produce timely and accurate drawings.
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures, business management systems, and client requirements.
• Support the CAD Supervisor and Project/Account Manager with additional tasks as needed.
Profile:
Experience & Knowledge:
• Demonstrable experience in a CAD Technician role.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
• Knowledge of gas, water and electricity distribution systems and utility plans (desirable).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications:
• Experience in 2D CAD within electrical and civil disciplines is essential.
