CData Software is seeking a Technical Writer who can help us create, edit, and organize highly technical information and turn it into compelling and useful content for internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, and loves to write comprehensive and accurate documentation for technical audiences.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

What You Will Do:


-Create and maintain technical documentation covering the entire suite of CData Software's hundreds of data connectors.
-Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop an in-depth understanding of the connectors’ documentation requirements.
-Collaborate with other Technical Writers to ensure that all documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.
-Create and organize internal technical information for developer processes, product features and new technologies.
-Help maintain and improve the writers’ onboarding documentation.

Qualifications:

-Minimum of 4 years of technical writing and editing experience.
-Degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, English, or related field preferred.
-Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
-Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
-Confidence working with highly technical people across the globe to get answers to questions so you can deliver the right level of information.
-Familiarity with product documentation standards and specifications.
-Understanding of the fundamentals of documentation architecture.
-Familiarity with APIs and API documentation.
-Demonstrated ability to learn technical information on-the-fly.
-Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Agile project management.
-Familiarity with the publishing methodologies and tools used in a documentation-as-code environment, such as Git, Markdown, SGML, and XML.
-Excellent technical editing skills in a technical or scientific environment.
-Experience working on documentation projects that cater to people from a wide range of technical backgrounds.
-Creative problem solver who is excited to help the team create informative, intelligently structured documentation.
-1+ years of software development experience preferred.
-Bonus: Familiarity with coding in XML, CSS, HTML.
-Travel Required: None required, although occasional travel to the office is encouraged for remote team members.
