Presale Networking and Security Specialist
A Presale Networking and Security Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the sales team during the presales process. They collaborate with sales representatives, customers, and internal teams to design and propose networking and security
solutions that meet the customer's requirements. The primary objective is to help the sales team win new business by providing in-depth
product knowledge, conducting demonstrations, and creating compelling technical proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand Customer Requirements: Collaborate with the sales team and engage with customers to gather and analyse their
networking and security requirements. Conduct meetings and presentations to identify the customer's challenges and propose
appropriate solutions.
2. Solution Design: Utilize networking and security expertise to design customized solutions that align with the customer's needs.
This includes selecting hardware and software components, configuring network architectures, and ensuring compatibility with
existing systems.
3. Technical Presentations: Conduct engaging and informative technical presentations and demonstrations for customers to
showcase the benefits and features of the proposed networking and security solutions. Address technical questions, provide
clarifications, and demonstrate how the solution addresses the customer's pain points.
4. Proposal Development: Create detailed technical proposals and documentation that outline the proposed solution, its
capabilities, and its business value. Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing models and ensure proposals
align with the customer's budget and expectations.
5. Proof of Concept (POC): Coordinate and conduct proof of concept activities to validate the proposed networking and security
solutions. Work closely with the customer's IT teams to configure and deploy the solution in a controlled environment,
addressing any technical challenges that may arise.
6. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to networking and
security. Maintain a deep understanding of the organization's products and services, as well as competitive offerings, to
effectively position the solutions during pre-sales engagements.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
1. Technical Expertise: Possess a strong background in networking and security technologies, including but not limited to routing,
switching, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, wireless networks, and network management tools. Familiarity with industry-standard
protocols, security frameworks, and compliance regulations is essential.
2. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effectively engaging with customers,
conducting presentations, and preparing technical proposals. The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and
concise language is vital.
3. Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand customer challenges and design
appropriate solutions. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective resolutions is
essential.
4. Pre-sales Experience: Previous experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role is highly desirable. Familiarity with the pre-sales
process, including engaging with sales teams, developing technical proposals, and conducting demonstrations, is beneficial.
5. Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and product
management, to gather information, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful solution implementation.
6. Presentation Skills: Confidence and proficiency in delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to both technical and
non-technical audiences. The ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and persuasive manner is essential.
7. Customer Focus: Strong customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to understand and address customer needs effectively.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers by providing exceptional technical support and guidance.
Certifications: Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or equivalent
certifications in networking and security technologies are highly valued.
Total Experience – 5+ years
Education : Engineering Graduates are preferred
