POSITION PURPOSE

This position’s primary purpose is to carry out the University’s recruitment activities in India while other responsibilities include assisting with market strategy and brand building. The position involves frequent, sophisticated interaction with agent network and students, with an objective to implement and execute the marketing plan of Deakin University in the region. This role will require the candidate to spend considerable time travelling to cities within India as well as meet virtually with the agent network as need be. Therefore, he/she is expected to be flexible to work during weekends and evenings, as required.

POSITION DIMENSION

Manager – Marketing & Recruitment (South Asia) is a member of staff of ETP Services Pvt. Ltd. The position holder may frequently act as the public face of Deakin University when liaising with Deakin’s agent network in India, and other events and activities.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The position communicates daily with the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions team at Deakin University. Within the University, this position interacts with faculty administrative staff, academic staff and student societies.

Externally, the incumbent is required to liaise with students and agents, participate in career fairs, answer student enquiries, work closely with the team to ensure business is processed.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Taking complete ownership of conventional recruitment channel and ensure agents are provided with up-to-date information and marketing material and making frequent visits, conducting frequent training, offering advice about the admission procedures, etc

2. Be solely responsible for Networks & Relationship building – agent Management, agent performance evaluation, training, and development. Developing new agents and fostering new business relationships thereof

3. Coordinate regular visits (in-person or virtual, as appropriate) to agent offices for recruitment and training purposes

4. Developing and performing strategic analyses of education system trends and considering future areas of opportunity

5. Produce marketing reports to the management on emerging trends, changes in consumer behavior, changing dynamics with agents, and competitor information in Subcontinent market

6. Work closely with Sr Manager – International Marketing & Recruitment (SA) to develop the undergraduate and postgraduate marketing strategies for the University in line with the strategic objectives of the University

7. Undertake and coordinate the provision of market intelligence to provide insights into market conditions, pricing, portfolio development, competitor activity and customer behavior in the India marketplace for Australian destination and update on a monthly basis

8. Ensure faculty activities are executed on time as stipulated in the calendar and be the conduit between faculties as and when required

9. To lead and manage the calendar of conversion activities to stimulate offer acceptance from undergraduate and postgraduate applicants

10. Plan and ensure participation and representation at the Agent Road shows and in house activities thereby measuring ROI of all activities/campaigns and ensure least possible cost/enrollment

11. Ensure that each lead and/or application received by the office is processed as per guidelines and that the entire loop is completed

SELECTION CRITERIA - ESSENTIAL

Training/Qualifications (or equivalent experience): A post graduate degree in Management and / or a combination of relevant experience. Knowledge of the Overseas education industry especially Australia will be preferred

Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience and broad knowledge in the education and training sector

Skills/Techniques:

· A strong customer focused attitude including enthusiasm, tact, with a strong intent to achieve a positive outcome, and the ability to communicate with a culturally diverse range of clients

· Sound administrative and organizational skills with strong IT skills including a sound knowledge of web-based tools and the Microsoft Office package

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including empathy and clarity of expression in both written and oral form

· Ability to develop, plan and facilitate group sessions

· Effective research skills

· Capacity to work to tight timelines and demonstrated strong project management skills

· Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative work teams.

SELECTION CRITERIA – DESIRABLE

Relevant experience in the Overseas Education Industry in the following areas:

· Updated network within the education Industry in India

· Experience of working in student recruitment or similar environment preferably in a managerial, marketing role or experience of the higher education sector

· Prior experience of working in a target driven environment and meeting/exceeding agreed targets

· Knowledge of the overseas education market

· Marketing/promotions experience

· Must be willing to travel extensively

· Able to handle extensive travel across the region
