Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
    • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to forecast costs.
  • Tender and Contract Management:
    • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and procurement schedules.
    • Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Cost Control and Financial Management:
    • Monitor project expenditures and compare them with initial estimates.
    • Ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Valuation and Payment:
    • Perform valuations of completed work and arrange payments to contractors.
    • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Risk and Compliance Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure all work complies with legal regulations, health & safety standards, and industry norms.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare detailed reports on project progress, costs, and deviations.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions and correspondence.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:
    • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Provide advice on contractual and commercial issues.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, CostX, and MS Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
