Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to forecast costs.
- Tender and Contract Management:
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and procurement schedules.
- Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Cost Control and Financial Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and compare them with initial estimates.
- Ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Valuation and Payment:
- Perform valuations of completed work and arrange payments to contractors.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify potential project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all work complies with legal regulations, health & safety standards, and industry norms.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, costs, and deviations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions and correspondence.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide advice on contractual and commercial issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, CostX, and MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
